Hello there Shane, I'm really interested/ curious on your choice for the windows on your new van conversion. Are you keeping to the fitted glass ones or will you swap into rv windows, that you can open? I Have a L2H2 van and I finding it hard to decide on the best combo for good airflow.
My priority is temperature inside the van (I'll be mostly in hot weather) but I'd also enjoy a connection with the outdoors through a large window like the one you have on beans. So Im thinking I could have a fitted glass window (no opening) with a fan and extra vent for airflow. Or, I wonder If I should go instead for a smaller rv double glazed window, that opens, along with a fan only, hence having more space in the van insulated...?
Any views on this? What has been you experience with the one window only? Will you make it different now? Cheers
Hey Mariana,
I have chosen to go with two double glazed, opening windows from Dometic for the new build.
Living in colder climates (-20C in winter), I really wanted the double glazed.
Having no vent in Beans (like you are talking about installing), I have to crack the door every time I cook which is annoying. I'm looking forward to having a window that opens.
Ultimately a large single paned window + a vent + roof vent will work perfectly and you won't regret that installation at all. Make sure the vent is not covered as air needs to flow very freely from it and up to the fan.
I went with the Dometic double paned for insulation purposes - the opening-closing is a nice bonus.
